VA-12 Attack Squadron "the Flying Ubangis"
Attack Squadron Twelve (VA-12), also known as the "Flying Ubangis" or "Clinchers", was a US Navy attack squadron during the Cold War.
Established in May 1945 as Bomber-Fighter Squadron Four (VBF-4), they flew the A-4 Skyhawk and the A-7E Corsair II. They were redesignated as VA-12 in August 1948.
They flew combat missions around the globe, including two tours in the Vietnam War.
The Squadron was decommissioned in October 1986.
