487th Fighter Squadron
The 487th Fighter Squadron was activated in October 1942.
In March 1943 they deployed to RAF Bodney airbase in England, and from there flew many combat missions across occupied Europe as part of the USAAF Eighth Air Force.
The 487th was deactivated November 1945.
